Editorial policy
How we review our content
Trustworthy health information depends on a clear, honest process. Here is exactly how content on HealthAnswers is written, checked and kept current.
Who writes our content
Articles are written by our editorial team in plain English, then checked by a registered UK doctor with relevant expertise before publishing.
Medical review
Every article is medically reviewed. The reviewer is named on the page, along with their qualifications and GMC reference number, which can be verified on the General Medical Council register. The review date is shown so you always know how current the information is.
Our sources
We aim to reflect guidance from trusted bodies such as the NHS and NICE, and to cite reputable, primary sources. Where evidence is uncertain or changing, we say so rather than overstate it.
Keeping content up to date
Health guidance changes. We review articles periodically and after major guidance updates, and we show the last reviewed date on every page.
Corrections
If you spot something that looks wrong or out of date, please tell us. We take accuracy seriously and will review and correct content where needed.
